Lucia Nezamian is Esther Eterian's maternal grandmother. This is again an old-world recipe contributed by Esther.

1 Yeast Cake, dissolved in 1/2 C. lukewarm water
1/2 Lb. Shortening, melted >BR> (1/2 Butter, 1/2 crisco)
1 1/2 C . evaporated milk
3 eggs
1 tsp.salt
1 Tbsp. Sugar
6 to 7 C. Flour
2 Eggs,beaten for topping


Dissolve yeast in 1/2 Cup of lukewarm water; set aside. Take 1/2 C of the melted shortening, warm the milk, beat the eggs, add the salt and sugar; mix themall together. Then add the yeast and the flour gradually, making a soft dough; knead. Cover and set aside in a warm place to rise double in size. Divide dought into 8 portions and shape into balls. Cover and let rise.

Cover and let rise. Roll each ball into 10 to 12 inch diameter; then take dough over your hands and stretch 2 or 3 times as large. Brush it with the remainder of melted shortening. Roll it like a jelly roll, and twist around several times, like a wheel. Brush the tops with egg and bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
