They were so good he couldn't eat just one. I think you will find that too. |
Thumbprint Cookies
Mix together-1/2cup of soft shortening(half Butter) 1/4cup brown sugar 1 egg yolk 1/2tsp vanilla Sift together and stir in 1 cup sifted GM flour 1/4 tsp salt Roll into 1" balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg whites. Roll in 3/4cup finely chopped nuts.. Place about 1inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Quickly press thumb gently on top of each cookie.. Return to oven and bake 8 minutes longer. Cool. Place in thumprints a bit of chopped candied fruit , sparkling jelly or jam , or tinted conf sugar icing. Temp. 375. Time: bake 5min, then 8 min. Amt. 2 dozen 11/2 inch cookies. |
