On a Saturday night in the mid 1920's a teen aged Helen, her two sisters and her father took public transportation from Lynn Ma. to a dance in Chelsea. It was customary for a teen ager to be chaperoned by her family to a dance at this time. All the girls at the dance were given a little book in which the gentlemen who asked them to dance would be entered. A young man who had been gently persuaded by the family to meet Helen asked her to dance but Helen had to decline because her book was filled for the night with other gentlemen who had already reserved dances with her. Helen could not understand why the family was trying to arrange for her to meet this man since she had two older sisters and it would make more sense that they would try to exercise their match making on them. When the dance ended the man (Armand Kashian) offered Helen, her father and Arax ( his niece) a ride home. They accepted the ride and the rest is history.
